What we check

Four calculations, recomputed record by record.

We agree the rules and the period with you before we start.

Split shifts

Meal and rest periods

Late, short or missed meal periods and rest breaks, and whether the premium was paid.

Regular rate and overtime

Overtime and premiums paid at the regular rate, with bonuses and commissions counted.

Waiting time

Final pay for employees who left, and what a late payment adds.

For W-2s due February 1, 2027, the W-2 overtime and tips check runs on the same engine.

Questions

What do you need from us?

A payroll export and the time punches for the period we review. No system access and no setup.

How is employee data handled?

Names are replaced with record IDs before any calculation, and the report lists employees by record ID. Access and data-processing terms are signed before we receive any files.

Is this legal advice?

No. The report is calculations for management and counsel review, not legal advice. Counsel decides what the findings mean and what to do about them.

Do you cover states other than California?

The rules engine covers California today. If you have hourly staff in other states, tell us where.

How is this different from the savings audit?

This audit checks California premium and penalty rules. The savings audit looks for money going out that shouldn't: pay that doesn't match your rules, unused tools and vendor charges.

What does it cost?

A fixed fee, quoted before we start, based on the period, the number of locations and the rules in scope.
